CCCPA participated in the African Standby Force (ASF) Training Implementation Workshop, organized by the African Union Peace Support Operations Department (AU PSOD), in collaboration with the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) - in Ghana from 30 November to 2 December 2022. The Center was represented by Brig. Gen. Ehab Khedr.
The workshop was the 14th in a series of annual stock-taking consultations, to coordinate and harmonize training activities with Regional Economic Communities/Regional Mechanisms (RECs/RMS), Training Centers of Excellence and Training Institutes (TCEs/TIs) and African Union mandated and authorized missions in accordance with ASF Training Policy and Directives. It aimed to review the progress made on the implementation of the current ASF 2021-2023 Training Directives, identify challenges and gaps, and explore possible ways of enhancing implementation. The TIW also offered a forum for discussion with partner institutions about how to coordinate technical support for training initiatives related to the continental and regional ASF.
The workshop included participants from AU Member States, AU PSOD, RECs/RMS, current AU Peace Support Operations, African Peace Support Trainers Association, TCEs/TIs, experts and partners.
