Auckland, New Zealand – Acting in its capacity as the President of the International Association of Peacekeeping Training Centers (IAPTC), CCCPA chaired the annual meeting of the Executive Committee of the Association, held from 20–22 February 2018. The meeting, organized by the New Zealand Defense Force, host of the 24th Annual Conference of the Association, provided an opportunity to set the strategic plan for the year, discuss the overall management of the Association, and agree on the planning of the annual conference. It also provided an opportunity to discuss the theme, agenda and organizational matters of the Annual Conference.
The conference decided to hold the 24th Annual Conference of the IAPTC on 1-4 October 2018 in Auckland, New Zealand, under the theme “Innovative Capacity Building for Effective Peacekeeping Operations.” The agenda will include sessions on high-risk environments; the impact of the police strategic guidance framework on training; community engagements; and the security of UN peacekeeping personnel. More information about the Executive Committee Meeting and the 24th Annual Conference will be posted on the IAPTC websiteby the end of March.
The Executive Committee also accepted Peru’s candidature to host the 25th Annual Conference of the IAPTC and discussed the way forward to finalize the required procedures.
As the Secretariat of the Association, CCCPA also delivered a presentation on the progress of its work and future plans to strengthen the concept of the IAPTC.
